Serial chipsets fróm the same manufacturérs should also wórk. Usb To Serial Ch340 Serial Connection DirectIyYou could simpIy open up thé device and gáin access to thé serial connection directIy and that máy well be thé easiest and chéapest option. If a dévice is pIugged in, these cómmands will be sént to the dévice. This way thé remote baud raté and parity cán be changed ón the fly withóut disconnecting and réconnecting. The SCL pin is pulled high internally so can be left unconnected. If RTSCTS is enabled then command mode can only be accessed when no USB device is plugged in. If attached USB device has more than one Serial port, you can choose which port to connect to. E.g. FT2232H 1, 2 (default 1). Note that this does not effect the communications speed with the attached device. This should bé set to thé required value fór the device. E.g. if the device is a GPS unit that runs at 4800 baud, the USBBAUD setting should be set to 4800. The default is 8N1, but you can set it to 8N1 (no parity), 8O1 (odd parity) or 8E1 (even parity). This is an output pin which is normally HIGH when there is NO data available. This is an input pin which should be held HIGH when you dont want data to be transmitted. If received dáta goes béyond this without béing read then dáta will be ovérwritten. Some USB devices have more than one serial port If attached USB device has more than one Serial port, you can choose which port to connect to. E.g. FT2232H has 2 ports. This will enabIe you to connéct the board directIy to serial pórts that support thé RS232 negative logic format. ![]()
